Dorothy Ruth Jones, 92, of Maquoketa, Iowa, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2014, at Crestridge Nursing Home in Maquoketa. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Lahey Funeral Home in Maquoketa. Friends and family may call on Monday, July 14, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at Lahey Funeral Home in Maquoketa. Burial will take place at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Maquoketa. Dorothy Ruth Bock was born on December 14, 1921 in Baldwin, Iowa to parents Lew and Bertha (Downer) Bock. She graduated from Baldwin High School. Dorothy married Robert E. Jones on April 18, 1941 in Canton, MO. She worked at Jack and Jill and volunteered at local nursing homes. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, baking cookies and picked up cans for many years. Dorothy is survived by her son, Stephen Jones of Maquoketa, IA and her sister, Lois Wurster of Maquoketa. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, who died in 2003, 3 brothers and 4 sisters. Memorials are preferred.
