Obituary

Dale Joseph Kloft, 84, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus in Davenport.

Dale was born on September 4, 1942, in Jackson County, Iowa, the son of John Kloft and Berniece Zeimet. He received his education at Bellevue Marquette, graduating in 1959.

Throughout his working years, Dale worked for Kirk and Otting in Maquoketa. He was a hardworking man who enjoyed the simple things in life and the company of those around him.

Dale was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Maquoketa. He was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed cheering on the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears. Above all, Dale enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and treasured the relationships he made throughout his life.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Angie Davison of Maquoketa; his sister, Mary Lou Clasen; his brother, Maynard Kloft of Maquoketa; two grandchildren; and his extended family, Sean and Angel Goodwin, Drake, Belle, Shane, Skye and Stacie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Berniece Kloft; and his sister, Diane.

A visitation will be held from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Monday, September 28, 2026, at Dawson Funeral Services in Maquoketa. His funeral service will immediately follow at 2:30 p.m. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Maquoketa.

Dale will be remembered for the friendships he made, the people he cared about, and the simple things that brought him happiness throughout his life. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
