Clara A. Lambe, 95 of Maquoketa and formerly of Otter Creek died on Saturday, January 11th, 2014 at the Maquoketa Care Center. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Maquoketa, burial will be in St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery, in Otter Creek, Iowa. Friends may call on Monday from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Lahey Funeral Home in Maquoketa where the Catholic Daughters of the America's Rosary will be recited at 4:00 p.m. Visitation will also be held from 9:00 until 10:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Tuesday. Clara Nemmers was born on May 18, 1918 in LaMotte, Iowa daughter of Peter and Mary (Herrig) Nemmers. She married James Lambe on November 19, 1940 in Otter Creek; he died on January 9, 1973. She had worked for Penrose Tru Value, and later did housework for area families. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Maquoketa, and the Catholic Daughters of the America's Court St Raphael #1156 of Maquoketa. She was a volunteer at Crestridge Nursing Home and liked to quilt and did quilting at the Maquoketa Senior Center a couple days a week.
She is survived by a son, Chuck Lambe of Zwingle, Iowa, two daughters; Mary Fisher of Cedar Falls, Iowa and Judy Knutson of Lakeville, Minnesota, eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one sister, Leona Schiffer of Dubuque, Iowa.
Preceding her in death was her husband James, one daughter Joyce, two brothers; Sylvester and Vincent, two sisters; Veronica Anglin and Georgia McLaughlin. Memorials are preferred.
