Chet Westcott, 63, of Oxford Junction died Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family. Family and friends may call from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, July 7, 2013, at Lahey Funeral Home in Oxford Junction, Iowa. His family is granting his wishes and he will be cremated. Chet was born December 18, 1949 at Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton to Chet and LetaMae (Worthen) Westcott. He was united in marriage on August 25, 1973 to Debra McFarland in Vinton, Iowa. He loved camping, boating, and fishing at 6B's Campground and his dog Sparky. He is survived by his wife Debra, two sons; Harold Westcott and his fiancé Jessica Hines of Oxford Junction, Joseph R Westcott and his girlfriend Teri McGillan of Baldwin, three grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, one brother Larry Westcott of LaPorte City, four sisters; Erma Jones of Vinton, Wanda (Gary) Krieger of Cedar Rapids, Susan (Francis) Bawden of Mt. Auburn, and Ruth (Terry) Becker of Urbana. He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-son Dean McFarland Uthoff and brother-in-law Jim Scott. Memorials are preferred.
