Charlotte Ada Hoffman, 98, of Wheatland, Iowa passed away Saturday, April 12th, 2014 at Wheatland Manor in Wheatland, Iowa. Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16th, 2014 at Union Presbyterian Church in Lost Nation, Iowa with a luncheon to follow. Family and friends may call on Wednesday, April 16th, 2014 at Union Presbyterian Church from 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. A private burial will be held at Lost Nation Cemetery in Lost Nation, Iowa. Charlotte Ada Heilig was born on September 21st, 1915 in Forest Park, IL to parents, Oscar and Viola (Strening) Heilig. She was a member of Union Presbyterian Church. Charlotte was married to John Phillip Hoffman he preceded her in death in 1966. She then married Joseph C. Kukla, whom preceded her in death in 2000. Charlotte worked as a bookkeeper and receptionist and in her later years she enjoyed working on the Lost Nation Scoop with her friends. She enjoyed reading, making baby quilts, sewing, and cooking.

Charlotte is survived by her son John (Diane) Hoffman Jr. LTC (USA-Ret.) of Albuquerque, New Mexico, four grandchildren; John (Terri) Hoffman, Jeff (Becky) Hoffman, Jason (Mary) Hoffman and Jill (Michael) Hunt, fourteen great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and one on the way.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands and two brothers.

The family wishes to thank Ron and Lana Heilig, Sue Heilig, and Tammi Sager for taking great care of Charlotte over the years.

Memorials are preferred in Charlotte's name to Genesis Hospice or Wheatland Manor.
