Bruce Trentz, 76, of Maquoketa, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Grand Strand Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Maquoketa. Visitation will be from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 9, 2015 where a rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. at Lahey Funeral Home, Maquoketa. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Maquoketa. Bruce John Trentz was born on November 1, 1938 in Dubuque, Iowa to parents, William and Dorothy (Roberts) Trentz. He was united in marriage to Joan Lary at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Delmar, Iowa on February 17, 1962. He served his country with the United States Navy. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Bruce was a self-employed tool and die maker. He enjoyed mushroom hunting, camping, golfing and his beloved Chicago Bears. He is survived by his wife, Joan, his sons; Doug Trentz of Oxford Junction, IA, Tom (Cindy) Trentz of Maquoketa, Mike (Tomi) Trentz of Maquoketa, Tim (Angie) Trentz of Dubuque, and Todd (Kara) Trentz of Dubuque, 11 grandchildren, sisters; Beth Steingreaber of Burlington, IA and Barb (Rick) Harries of Burke, VA, brother-in-laws; John (Maureen) Lary and Gene Lary, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers; Bill and Bob Trentz, his sister, Beverly Trentz, his mother and father in-law, Wilmer (Helen) Lary, brother-in-law, Mark Steingreaber, and brother-in-law in infancy, Alan Lary.
