Aloysius "Al" Hingtgen, 99, of Maquoketa, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at Maquoketa Care Center. His funeral mass will be on Friday, May 22, 2015 at 12:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Maquoketa. His visitation will be held prior to the funeral mass from 11:00 a.m. -12:30 p.m. also at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Maquoketa. Lahey Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Aloysius Hingtgen was born in LaMotte, Iowa on August 6, 1915 to parents Nicholas and Catherine (Heiar) Hingtgen. He was united in marriage on November 23, 1937 to Elnora Schmidt at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. He farmed in the Spragueville, Iowa area until 1970. Al was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Maquoketa. Al is survived by his daughters; Bonnie Bormann of Maquoketa, IA and Connie (Lynn) Ernst of Underwood, IA, 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, his sister, Viola (Floyd) Roeder of Bellevue, IA, and Delores (Richard) Eggers of Andrew, IA and his brother, LaVerne (Janet) Hingtgen or Lake Suzie, FL. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elnora, his sisters; Donna Oster and Loretta Clasen, his brother, Raymond, his son in law, Orville Bormann, brother in law, Raymond Clasen, and sister in law, Delores Hingtgen. Memorials may be made in his memory to Camp Courageous, Monticello, Iowa.
