Alan Small, 76, of Lost Nation passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at Clarence Nursing Home.

Alan was born on June 8, 1940 in Macomb, Illinois to Claud P. and Kathryn (Rickertsen) Small. He married Barbara Thompson in June of 1973 in Rockton, Illinois.

Alan worked at Lyndol Chemical Company, Peavy Grain, and retired from the Diamond Jo. He was a member of the American Legion, Menzo Widle Post 381, Lost Nation Lion's Club, and Booster's Club. He enjoyed farming, and visiting with many people. He was very active in politics. He was very loving and giving to all of his children, and grandchildren. Each was the light of his life and the source of his greatest happiness.

Those left to cherish his memories are his children; Beryl Griebel of Clinton, Laurel Lewandowski of Lost Nation, Alan Jeffery Small Jr. of Miles, 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
